The Return Of The Citroen DS
When Citroen decided to continue their endeavors in the DS range of vehicles, they were welcomed in South Africa iwht open arms. The nifty DS3 breathed a spray of exciting designs and colours into the range and the South African motorist’s attention was captured. The DS3 was a finalist in the SAGMJ Car Of The Year 2011
I recently test drove the Citroen DS4 2-litre diesel and I loved it. The firm steering provided a feeling of precision and the entire car felt tight. No loos rattle or reverberation, everything seemed to be firm.
The seats hugged me and held me firm through tight corners as I pushed the DS4 till it schreeched. This took some doing as the DS4 had fantastic road manners and was not prone to slipping and sliding.
I took an immediate liking to the exterior design, it is unique and attractive with plenty of sporty appeal. The interior was bold, without being crass or overstated, typical French sophisticated flair with ample comfort.
Consumption figures were very pleasing when I eased off the throttle at around just over 5.1 litres per hundred, Citroen managed to get 5.1 in a combined cycle.
