Infiniti And Beyond
I have been ogling the stunning designs of the premium Infiniti brand of motorcars, trolling the Internet and googling incessantly. I was really impressed when I learnt that Infiniti was to co-sponsor the World Champion Formula 1 Infiniti Red Bull team. So you can imagine how impressed I was when I discovered the latest Infiniti centre had just opened its doors in Pinetown. I headed straight over to their showroom and was once again captivated by the opulent style and sophistication the dealership exudes. I jumped at the opportunity to test drive some of the exceptional models they have on offer and was blown away by my first Infiniti road test. The Sales Manager at Infiniti, handed me the I Key, with smart access, to an Infiniti FX50. From the moment I had adjusted the 14-way power drivers seat to perfection, and pushed the start button on this five-litre V8, I knew I was in for a treat. The throaty rumble of the engine left no doubt to the thrill that awaited me. I had total control of the 287 kilowatts of power this V8 produces and felt nothing could stand in the way of the gargantuan 500 Newton meters of torque. The seven-speed gearbox was seamless and even when I used the paddle shift gear selectors, I felt no power loss or hesitation when changing gears. I had to hold myself back with all that power. The FX50’s Suspension with active continuous damping control and rear active steering provided thrilling road handling and cornering manners. The Infiniti FX50 is equipped with a comprehensive list of state-of-the-art features that enhance the driving experience, like the Intelligent Cruise Control with low speed following. A Forward Collision warning beeped at me whenever I approached an obstacle too enthusiastically and this is where the FX50’s Intelligent Brake Assist would come into play. Lane Departure Warning and lane Departure Prevention will help keep you on the straight and narrow. Around View monitors with corner parking sensors let me see every inch of this awesome vehicle from the heated drive’s seat. In low light the FX 50 is equipped with Bi Xenon lights that employ an adaptive front lighting system. The Infiniti FX50 is sophistication personified, the luxurious air conditioned interior speaks of accomplishment and individuality. The Multimedia pack includes a High-resolution touch screen central display with Infiniti controller, a 30 GB HDD Navigation system with an integrated CD / DVD reader with MP3, WMA and Div X compatibility, plus a 10 GIG Infiniti music box that includes Blue tooth with voice recognition. The Bose sound system with its 11 speakers, including a sub, produced enough superior quality sound to have a party’s. I attracted so much attention everywhere I went, I felt like a celebrity. The Infiniti FX50 comes with a three year 100 000 kilometre service plan and a five year or 100 000 kilometre full maintenance plan.
