The Jaguar XF 2012
It’s A Revolution
“The Jaguar XF fuses contemporary sports car styling and dynamics with the refined performance and comfort of a luxury saloon.”
The revolution that started in Jaguar’s Virtual Reality Design Studio exploded onto the streets of South Africa in September of this 2011. The advantages of Virtual Design are expressed in the daring and powerful body styling of the new XF. The sleek sensual energy of its feline namesake is beautifully represented in the aggressive and dynamic stance of this luxury sports saloon. The new Jaguar XF takes the fusion of breathtaking sports car capability and luxury saloon comfort to new levels. Jaguar has raised the bar once again with this amazing new vehicle. The extent of engineering and technological innovation applied by Jaguar in the development of this car, puts the new XF in a class of its own. To illustrate my point I must report that Dr. Ralf Speth, COE of Jaguar, was recently presented with the ‘Car of the Decade’. The award by Auto Express Driver Power was the result of a survey of over 300 000 vehicle owners. You have only to look at the nose down, muscular bearing of the new XF to know that this is an athlete. Its aerodynamic profile, the flowing lines searing through the air, highlighted by bold bi-function HID Xenon headlamps and crystal white LED daytime running lights. Complementing this breath taking and timeless exterior, is the awe-inspiring interior. Press the pulsating red START button and super cat comes to life. The JaguarDrive Selector rises out of the centre consol, like a Genie, granting your wish. The air vents dance in unison and phosphor blue mood lighting trim ads a touch of finesse letting you know, “You’ve arrived”. The lithe leather seats seem to hug your body, promising support through those tight corners and delivering the ultimate comfort encounter. I feel as though there is no need to mention safety and performance, two areas where Jaguar exceed expectations. With eight airbags and record-breaking fuel consumption by the 2.2 litre diesel version of the new XF, zero to a hundred in a blistering 4,9 seconds by the XFR, there is little more that needs to be said.
