Optimal Excellence
I first saw the Kia Optima on the showroom floor and I was immediately impressed. The confident bold styling exuded a sense of style, grace and poise, I was drawn as if in a trans to touch the car. My excitement mounted as I opened the driver’s door and slid into the seat. World-class design was presented with fresh, innovative style. Gone was the stayed unoriginal repetition we have come to expect from designers. Kia’s Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer, really touched a chord in my judgement. The Optima is that appealing to me. More impressive even was the drive. I had the joy of testing the Kia Optima for a week and it was sublime. Everything harmonised, it all seemed to meld together in perfect unison. The steering was precise, as was the braking. I decided to really push the Optima to its limits to see if it was as good under the stellar exterior. During the emergency braking procedure the Optima was calm, even when I removed my hands from the steering wheel and slammed on the brakes as hard as I could, feeling the EBD and BAS brake assist program come to my aid as the Optima slowed rapidly with almost no tyre squealing thanks to the ABS program. Accelerating to the maximum, shifting gears with the paddle shift and feeling the smooth changing transmission, I smiled, almost maliciously as I threw the Optima into an almost impossible corner. The TCS traction control seemed to take over and guide me through the tight bend. I could not fault the Optima, everything was where I wanted it to be, the plush leather interior and crisp Infinity sound system, a complete package. But don’t take my word for it, take the Kia Optima for a test drive and see for yourself how balanced and responsive this wonderful model offering is.
