As I slipped into the body hugging driver’s seat of the Sales Manager’s Range Rover Evoque Coupe, I was enthralled. This is the smallest, lightest, most fuel efficient Range Rover ever built.

No sooner had I pulled out from the dazzling dealerships showroom, than an overwhelming sensation started to take hold. The nimble acceleration and super responsive steering had me feeling as though I was Luke Skywalker in one of his intergalactic X-Wing fighters. So smooth was the suspension I felt I was flying.

I swooped down towards the N2 and glided swiftly onto the southern bound lanes. As I dialled up the Evoque’s Sport mode, and shifted into hyper speed, the lumbering container truck ahead of me disappeared into my rear-view mirror. The transition was so smooth; I was a Jedi Knight, careering towards a victory over the dark forces.

The evil of excessive fuel consumption and carbon emissions I had already conquered.
