For You – The Freelander 2
After road testing the new Land Rover Freelander 2, I wasn’t surprised when I found out that it was equipped with the same 2.0 Si4 Turbocharged petrol engine as the Range Rover Evoque. The new Freelander 2 was overhauled again, this time Land Rover has given it the new 7-inch colour touch-screen that controls the Meridian Surround Sound System, phone function and navigation system. The interior was refreshed with larger storage compartments and a new look to the controls as well. Added features, like the Rear View Camera with Hitch Assist, make the value of the new Freelander 2 that much more exciting. The tweaked body design adds to its attraction, as does the new range of colours and LED lights.
It’s another step forward for the Freelander 2, where outstanding equipment levels, superb design, safety and all-terrain capability continue to set the standards in this class, said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director. Well I can concur that John certainly knows what he is talking about, because the real reason you are going to call up and buy the new Freelander 2, is that it gets up and goes with exhilarating vigour. The nippy performance is available in the diesel version, and when I tested this derivative on the open road it was as comfortable as a luxury saloon. Off road the Freelander 2 shouts the Land Rover capability with its intelligent Terrain Response four-wheel drive system that reacts to traction changes in just 150 milliseconds.
